HandsOn Network creates innovative volunteer opportunities for people and organizations to apply their interests and passions to make a difference. The network ensures there are volunteer and community participation opportunities for people throughout the country and increasingly, around the world. The network aims to empower individuals to create real-time community solutions which drive systemic change.
The Network is driven by the 370 HandsOn Action Centers, which serve 83 percent of the American population and 12 international communities in nine countries. These centers act as community hubs -- places where people can get connected, get involved and make change happen in their communities. They focus on helping people plug into volunteer opportunities in their local community; helping nonprofits manage volunteer resources and developing the leadership capacity of volunteers. From Birmingham, Ala., to San Francisco to Tokyo, our HandsOn Action Centers are the places bringing communities together through joint service projects.
The reach of the Network is even greater than the 370 affiliates as it is also a "network of networks" and includes an expanded base of thousands of nonprofit, community, faith-based, government and corporate organizations.
