25th Annual CMA Awards Summary
One year after winning the Horizon Award, Garth Brooks takes the CMA Awards by storm. The singer-songwriter takes home four
awards including entertainer of the year, album (for No Fences), single ("Friends in Low Places") and video for the
controversial "The Thunder Rolls." Vince Gill wins his first male vocalist honor, and his hit "When I Call Your Name" gives
him and co-writer Tim DuBois the song of the year honor. Gill also shares the vocal event honor with Mark O'Connor and his
fellow members of the Nashville Cats. Tanya Tucker earns female vocalist, and Georgia native Travis Tritt takes home the Horizon
honor. Hit songwriters Boudleaux and Felice Bryant are this year's inductees into the Country Music Fall of Fame.
